Along with my family last Saturday, I had a lunch buffet at Sonya's Garden in Alfonso, Cavite. The ambiance was so peaceful, I thought I was in a church! The people are neat and quiet and the whole place is really relaxing. The cool wind of Tagaytay seemed to be present in Alfonso, too. We didn't mind the long trip on the way there because the food was really delicious.
First, we were served with the salad greens along with some cucumber, mangoes, nuts and a whole lot more.
They also have this Sonya's Super Secret Salad Dressing that I loved so much. I think I got full eating just the salad itself!
Next up were the bread and the chicken. The chicken's not really a part of the lunch buffet, but when we made our reservation, I think my dad ordered chicken already. So yep, we had chicken. I think it was marinated with lots of herbs and spices 'cause I can recognize the taste! My mom usually does that, marinating chicken with herbs. The bread, on the other hand, was a fresh baked whole wheat sesame bread. Dips and toppings came along with it like basil pesto, white cheese, anchovies, and a whole lot more. Plus, they're homemade!
Next was pasta! A bowl of noodles were given to us then several bowls of different sauces came along with it. You get to make a pasta of your own choice and you can put in fried salmon belly to add texture and taste!
What I love most in buffets: dessert! This time, we were given a slice of chocolate cake, turon, sweet potatoes and tarragon tea! Don't underestimate their chocolate cake, even I gave up eating it because of its sweetness regardless of the size! It was just too sweet!
Tarragon tea!! The leaves are available in their shop so you can make this tea in your home. :)
Sweet potatoes! Didn't try this, though. But we were told that it is best eaten with mint leaves. I found it weird but my sibs and 'rents liked it.
Turon!
Unlike most buffets wherein you stand up and go around to get some food, here at Sonya's Garden, they bring the food to you! If you want to have some more of their food, you can just ask the waiters and waitresses and they'll do the refill themselves. Great for lazy people! Haha! This sit-down style that they have makes the buffet look like set meals that adds class to their service.
Before going there, reservations should be made. Should you want to know more about Sonya's Garden, you can visit their site here! I recommend you to try! :)
With all these food, you'll never notice that you're already full! All of their ingredients come from their garden so they really choose the best ones for the quality of their food. They also have additional services like the spa, bed and breakfast, panaderia, and country store. They also have a place wherein you can rent for wedding receptions, debut, and meetings.
Can't wait to go back!
